Joan Gross
At the age of 70, I have finished raising my children, and feel free to enjoy life’s adventures. Although I still work very hard (I rehab houses for rent and do property management) I now take the time to pursue the things I love- such as writing.
Two years ago, I remarried (number five, but who’s counting). He lives in Naharyia, Israel, and I live in Cincinnati. We take turns visiting each other and although the distance is difficult, he is truly the wind beneath my wings.
This blog is intended for mothers and grandmothers – sharing recipes, posting children’s stories and essays about life. Please feel free to contribute. I will also be putting up fun recipes for grandmothers to make for their grandchildren.
In the years from childhood to grandmother I have obtained a BA in Literature from Georgia State, studied at the Art Students League in NYC for 4 years, was a legal secretary, owned and ran several stores in NYC (Mouse N’ Around and Jungle Fever), was a starving artist, founded and ran the Informer newspaper, traveled to places no longer safe to visit, and have collected many wonderful friends, some wisdom, and a driving desire to make a difference.
Life is a grand adventure and I appreciate every day.

Hey, thanks for stopping by my blog and liking my Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs recipe. I hope you try it sometime and let me know your feedback. It’s very chunky, and you can make it as zippy as you like depending on how much crushed red pepper you add to the sauce. It’s so easy – just throw everything in the crockpot! Hey, I can do that! Enjoy.

Thank you, it is. I have always run towards experiencing life at its fullest while remaining practical and trying to grow. This formula, at the age of 71 is still working for me.
